Over the last few months, I began studying and preparing for service as a Church of Christ minister. In my study, I use both the bible and do research on the internet to see multiple points of view. I found many articles that spoke about the Church of Christ and associated beliefs. I found many of these articles to be based on misunderstandings and propoganda.
After praying about it, I saw that my experience developing blogs could be used to explain these misunderstandings. If you want to know more about me then see the About Me page. As you read the rest of this article, I think you will find my postiions different then what you have heard about the Church of Christ.
My purpose is not to push a Church of Christ agenda. There is enough sectarianism in this world. One person says this church is better, another says their is better, yet a third says they all are wrong. This blog will be interested in simply one thing. What does the bible say?
At the same time, I am not legalistic in my studies. One article I am working on will delve deaply into how to study the bible. We must not look simply at what any individual scripture says alone. Much like reading a novel, we must look at how it fits in with other scriptures. Historical context also plays a role.
I am not out to prove anyone right or wrong. Often, I have discussions with people on any belief they want to discuss with me. I do not walk down the street yelling that we all need to be saved but save my conversations for where God’s provides the opportunity. I simply want to provide the proper perspective to the articles that already exist. I hope you will subscribe to this blog and study with me. I welcome any questions anyone may have.
